bowl food.

This Saturday Luna and I made this great impromptu lunch: peanut tofu with cabbage, carrots, and greens:
Saute tofu in oil, add carrots and cabbage and continue cooking. Add salt, pepper, and honey to taste. To make the asian-style peanut sauce, mix together creamy peanut butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced ginger, and brown sugar (thin with water as needed). Pour over tofu mixture once heat is turned off. Top with fresh greens (ours were just purchased from the Fort Greene Farmers Market.)
This was my dinner for three nights in a row this past week. I made some tomato sauce which consisted of canned Italian tomatoes, red onion, garlic, sugar, lots of fresh basil, salt and pepper. I then sauteed mushrooms and spinach to layer on top, and finally, parmesan cheese.

Tron-ye West

Brunch at Le Barricou in Williamsburg. I think we tried nearly every cocktail on their menu: a dark and stormy, bloody mary, black sage collins, penicillin, applejack old fashioned, and a whiskey smash.
My parents came to visit this weekend, and after having an incredible meal at Diner in Brooklyn, we stopped over to meet the newest member of the 100 South 4th clan: Tron. Or as I like to call him, Walnut.
Mi papa drinking coffee in our colorful living room!

the elks lodge is open for business.

Kmo came to visit this weekend from SF and although short and we were all very busy, it was so wonderful to see her. We had out very first get together at our place on Friday night, and Saturday ventured to a dark and dingy venue to see our friends' show. Walking out I smelled as if I smoked 2 packs of cigarettes by myself in a box (eek).
Arts and crafts, and calculus homework.
Weeknight meals with the gals. Kale and carrot and cabbage stir fry.
